Which 6x9 speaker is cheaper?

Surely you have heard of Plexiglas and all the benefits that surround such an absolutely brilliant invention for mankind. Imagine there is also use for it inside your car and for your car audio system . In fact this Plexiglas is actually used to protect your car audio system from harm, if the head unit as well as the other accessories and parts of the car audio system are protected by Plexiglas then this means that you get to keep it protected from a lot of things. For instance, all your accessories such as the amplifiers and the speakers and your head unit as well will be shielded well form dust and grime that can cause problems for the proper function of the audio system as a whole. Also, if you have little children who ride in your car often you also get to keep all the controls of the audio system away from them and thus well protected.

The best part about the Plexiglas being used as a cover for the controls and the head unit and the accessories of the car audio unit is that it looks just like a clear plastic sheet but however it isnt and can in fact be shaped by cutting and etching into whatever desired shape that you like. You can even polish it and create a pretty effect. However getting it into the desired shape and size that you want can actually take up some of your time and would need patience to be dealt with; though the whole procedure is not very difficult to carry out.

You could cut the Plexiglas for use as a shield for the audio system in your car. You could cut it with a simple table saw or some other kind of saw. But just be careful while you are sawing through the Plexiglas because there will be a shower of shavings that comes off of such Plexiglas being sawed so you would need gear for the protection of your eyes and in fact your whole face. In fact Plexiglas can even be scored through just like you would do with glass. Plexiglas or polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) comes in many grades, and is called by many names. Acrylic, plexiglass, plexi and lexan being the most common. Acrylic is a compound used to make Plexiglas from chemical compounds that contain the acryl group derived from acrylic acid. Plexiglass (with 2 ss) is a tradename or trademarked by a company named Rohm & Haas. Plexi is just a shortened version. Lexan is Polycarbonate, and reacts differently to tooling than Plexiglas.

When the car stereo speakers pre-installed with the car are not able to provide the high level of entertainment desired by the car owner, they can be easily removed. Upgrading the car stereos with aftermarket car stereos will provide the much-needed improvement in sound quality. The car speakers are not only easily available and cheap, they are also easy to install. One factor to be considered before installing the speakers is the type of speaker suited for the car.

Materials needed

Though most car speakers can be easily fixed with ordinary screwdrivers, some speakers need additional tools. The tools to be used are screwdriver, wire cutter or stripper tool, soldiering solder, panel removal tool, electrical tape, retaining clip cleaner, file and drill.

Pre-Installation

Before installing the speakers, make sure to read the instructions accompanying the speaker model. Below are basic steps that one will need to follow when installing new car speakers.

Door Panel

Using the door panel removal tool, remove the panel. Most of the speakers installed are door mounts, thus to be able to install the speakers properly, the door panel must be removed. When removing the door panel, start by removing the window cranks. Some window cranks are affixed using screws, so use the screwdriver to loosen the screws. When the window crank has been removed, unscrew the armrest. After removing the remaining screws, proceed to the door panel. Starting at the bottom end of the panel, pull the panel outwards. Using the panel removal tool begin loosening the corners then proceed to loosen the remaining area. Once the door panel is loose, slowly pull out the panel.

Remove Old Door Speakers

After the door panel has been removed, the old speakers became exposed. Most speakers are fitted with grilles, thus use the screwdriver to loosen the grille. Proper attention should be observed when removing the door speaker since they are normally attached to a set or wires. If the speaker is mounted using foam or sealant, use a cutting tool to cut across the material.

The next step is to remove the factory wiring harness and fasten the new wiring harness to the terminals of the new speaker. Ensure the polarity of the wiring is correct, and then plug the speakers harness to the inbuilt factory wiring harness. Before putting the new speaker into place, test it to make sure it is working. Take a second look at the wiring to ensure they have been attached correctly, then screw the speaker into the opening and reattach the grille. Make sure to properly re-attach the door panel.

Installing Dash Speakers

Remove the screws holding the grilles using a 90-degree screwdriver. In case the grille is held down by friction fittings, pry it carefully to avoid making scratches on the dashboard. Once the grille has been removed, pull out the old speakers, and then join the new speaker to their respective terminals, using the wiring harness. In some cases the connection need to be soldered. Put the speaker in its place and re-attach the grille. and voila, your car speakers will be in place.

Which is reliable?

Nowadays, you can throw a party anywhere as long as you have an iPod and a set of iPod speakers. They are so tiny, yet they can boom the bass and shake up the place.

iPod speakers are either portable, which you can carry around, or home models, which you cannot carry around because of some restrictions like, it is bigger and heavier and is therefore not handy, and it is not battery operated and work only when plugged into an electrical outlet.

The portable models are battery operated and has a size just slightly larger than iPod Nano and some weighs only half an ounce! Although portable iPod speakers offer sound better than most computer speaker, it can’t compete with the home only or standalone iPod speakers that can produce louder, crisper, and more booming sound, for these iPod speakers get their power directly from an electrical outlet that gives much energy compared to a low voltage battery.

Below are the best in iPod speakers that could rock us out of our seat with their booming sound.

-iBlasting the Room with iBoom speakers

iBoom is the newest speaker from DLO. The iBoom speakers sport an amorphous shape and has a slot in the front which serve as a hub for iPod or iPod mini. The four speakers only need 20 watts per channel to start producing sound. iBoom iPod speakers also has a built-in handle, an AUX in port, and can run either on AC power or a with six “D” batteries. When plugged in to an AC power, the iBoom iPod speakers will charge the cradled iPod. Design wise, iBoom speakers look pretty good with a white iPod cradled on it.

The plus points for iBoom are (1) low wattage consumption but could still produce decent sound, (2) portable and (3) charge an iPod when it is running on A/C power.

– ‘What’s the new Black?’

For Altec Lansing, the answer is still black.

Altec Lansing’s inMotion iM3 iPod speakers come in the usual Apple white and, now, in black. It weighs around 15 to 16 ounces only and is sized just a bit larger than the iPod.

Altec Lansing is known for creating sound system that could produce sounds in different ranges from the highest pitch to the lowest bass. And now that Altec Lansing has speakers for the iPod, expect that these would be of high quality. In fact, these speakers has a class D amplifier to create rich, audible sounds.

The NXT speaker system priced itself out of what should have been the dawn of a new era in sound technology. The AQ Amigo speaker system makes use of another generation of NXT revolutionary technology but aims to put this in the hands of even the most frugal of shoppers. Instead of using a cone and large magnet to generate sound, the NXT system is able to generate copious amounts of sound out of a thin film of plastic. The AQ system is less than 1 inch thick and most of that is the laptop mount. The AQ Amigo is designed such that it can be placed directly atop a laptop screen close to the ears of the owner. This proximity lowers the amount of volume needed and simplifies the design of the device down to speaker and USB cord.

The integrated USB cord provides sound card function and power for the speakers all by itself. This has to be the most portable quality stereo sound system to date. The first versions of the NXT system were way overpriced. The economy and maybe some common sense may have NXT licensing its technology more reasonably now as the AQ Amigo speakers are available for the shockingly low $19.

    Episode Summary: WWII In HD

WWII in HD is the first-ever “World War II” documentary presented in full, immersive HD color. Culled from thousands of hours of lost and rare color archival footage gathered from a worldwide search through basements and archives, WWII in HD will change the way the world sees this defining conflict. Using footage never before seen by most Americans–converted to HD for unprecedented clarity–viewers will experience the war as if they were actually there, surrounded by the real sights and sounds of the battlefields. Along the way they’ll meet a diverse group of soldiers whose wartime diaries and journals show in visceral detail what the war was really like. This visually astonishing landmark series presents the story of “World War II” through the eyes of 12 Americans who experienced the war firsthand. Viewers will hear the story of Army nurse June Wandrey, who served from the beginning of the war in North Africa to the liberation of the camps in Germany. They will meet Shelby Westbrook, a young African American from Toledo, who became a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen; Jimmie Kanaya, the son of Japanese immigrants, who served in the U.S. Army and was imprisoned in Europe; and Jack Werner, a Jewish émigré who escaped from Austria before the war and wound up fighting not against Hitler and the hated Nazis, but in the Pacific Theater.

Actually, I'm not sure if this flowchart makes anything easier. In the end it might just make fun of you and bring you back to square one. Still, there is some useful information in there if you are willing to go on the journey.
