Which is better motorized treadmill Reviews & Tips

My Walking View by CC Chapman

Well, this is a piece of fitness equipment that will. Yes this treadmill is expensive, but that expensive cost is more than made up for by the warranty that simply cannot be beat. When people complain about the treadmill being boring, it is probably because they do the same workout over and over.Spinning bike equipmentMy brother-in-law was almost 350 pounds 3 months ago and the Sole F83 didn't have any issue carrying his weight at higher speed. Here are two great treadmill workouts you can use if you are pressed for time. They are quite cheap! You can pick up a new one for under 0 easily. treadmillFortunately, all that has changed. If you've been running for a while you already know that outdoor running is not always possible due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances, that's when your treadmill becomes your best friend. Any of the above mentioned treadmills can make a great choice if you are serious about either walking or running your way to fitness. The best treadmills on the market combine an amazing and effective workout, make efficient use of space, and are affordable. There are so many choices today that it's very hard to narrow your decision down to a specific machine. There are a lot of choices out there and it can be difficult to filter through all of them and choose one.

After purchasing a large piece of fitness equipment from Amazon, do not move. Ever. This apparently confuses the customer service representatives and sends you on a two-month odyssey of buck-passing, missed connections, confusion, and consumer mayhem. Vu writes that he has learned this lesson the hard way. He would like Amazon to come pick the damn thing up so he can get his refund.

I ordered a treadmill from Amazon on 11.29.09. It was delivered on 12.9.09, and a week after the delivery I moved to a new place. That's when I assembled the treadmill and realized it was not working. The display was OK, the timer was counting down, but the belt was not moving. So here's what I've been doing the last couple of months..

Dec 29, 09:

I call Amazon and talk to but am told that I cannot have it replaced because I've changed my address since the delivery. I should call the manufacturer and try to get it fixed. I call Merit Fitness about 3 times but due to the high number of calls, I am asked to leave a message and am reassured that I will be contacted within 24hrs. I am not.

Late Dec - early Jan:

I keep calling.

Early Jan:

Someone finally answers. One hour on the phone explaining what is working and what's not. The representative says that they will send me some parts and have a technician in my region contact me within a week.

A couple of weeks later:

I get the parts.

Mid Jan:

I call again and get the number of the technician. I call them and we schedule an appointment.

Late Jan:

I file for half a day off work and stay at home, waiting. Nothing. I call again and am told the technician should have already stopped by. I go to the door and see a note that they were there but the bell was not working. The bell *is* working but even if it weren't, why didn't they knock? Or call? I call again and they tell me that the technician will be back later. File for another half day off work. The technician comes about an hour later and after looking at the treadmill informs me that I don't have the necessary parts. He will have Merit Fitness ship the parts and schedule a new appointment within a week.

Two weeks later:

No parts, no call. I call Merit Fitness again. They apologize but the defect is so expensive to fix that I am better off replacing it. They tell me I can just keep or throw away the old unit, and I should call Amazon to get a new one. They don't know why I wasn't informed about that earlier and had to call myself.

Feb 10, 2010:

I call Amazon and talk to I tell her I want my money back and I don't care for a replacement unit anymore. No problem, we will pick the unit up, and you will get refunded as soon as we get it. What's your new address? I give her my new address and she tells me somebody will call me back to schedule a pickup. No one ever calls me back.

Feb 15, 2010:

I call Amazon again and talk to We schedule an appointment for Sunday so I don't miss any more time from work, just ruin a weekend.

Sunday Feb 21, 2010:

I get a call from the shipping company to come out because they are at the address. I get out, but nobody's there. Call them back, turns out they went to the old address. They will give me a call back in 5 minutes. One hour later, no call. I call them and they tell me that's the address they got from Amazon. Nothing they can do about it, I should call Amazon. At this point I am pretty frustrated. I call Amazon and talk to She apologizes, it was their mistake. But still, they can't give me a refund without the item. And I cannot have the treadmill picked up the same day, so we have to reschedule.

So what's it gonna be - do I want to miss another day from work, or stay home one more weekend? I tell them it's been two months and I want my money back, I don't care how they will pick up the treadmill. Not my problem anymore. I get to talk to the manager. Then the manager's manager. Then the manager's manager's manager whose name is I tell him what I told the rest - I will leave the treadmill in front of the house. I live in the Seattle area so it rains pretty often, but it's not like it can get any more broken than it already is. So come pick it up whenever you want, then send me my money back. Doesn't sound like the manager cares too much about the item. He's OK with me just leaving it outside. I will be refunded as soon as they get it, in whatever condition it might be. So there it is now, waiting to be picked up in front of my house. It's been sunny the last couple of days so they might get lucky. I don't really care either way - just want it out of my sight at this point.

Tuesday Feb 23, 2010:

Three different people from [a local shipping company] l call me to confirm the pickup date for Wednesday between 1 and 4 pm. I explain to each of them that I will leave the item at my front door. They tell me it is fine as long as I provide a note with the item number, order number and my signature.

9 am Wednesday:

I leave the treadmill with the note attached to it (see photo) in front of my house and leave for work.

1:19 pm:

I receive a call from Amazon and they tell me that the driver couldn't pick up the item because nobody was home to sign for it. I tell her what happened. She counters back saying that the driver didn't find a note (see photo). She sounds very upset like I am trying to blame her. She asks me if I want to schedule another appointment since they can't come and pick it up the same day. I say no and end the conversation.

1:45 pm:

I take another half day off work to go home and try to handle this. I call Amazon and talk to who is supposed to transfer me to , but I get disconnected. I call again and talk to who basically tells me that it is my problem and I have to call the shipping company myself. I ask her to transfer me to She snaps at me and tells me that we are not going anywhere with this, but agrees to transfer my call.

2:00 pm:

I finally get to talk to who still remembers me from our conversation last Sunday. He tells me that I was supposed to leave the item outside, but in a dry area, where the driver can pick it up. It sounds like he wants me to build a little house for the treadmill or leave the key for my house. I tell him that we've never agreed on that. At that point he tells me to call [the local shipping company] again and schedule another pickup. I call and talk to who tells me that I can't contact them directly. They will have to call me back after Amazon enters the order to schedule the pickup. So now I am waiting to see what happens next. It's so ridiculous that it's almost entertaining.

Just to give you more background information: I have been shopping at Amazon for years and have never had any complaint before. In fact, I have never filed a complaint for anything in my life. But this is ridiculous. What do you suggest I should do?

At this point, I probably would have long ago hired my own shipping company to dump the treadmill in front of Amazon's headquarters. Otherwise, I'm fresh out of ideas. Any suggestions for Vu, Consumerist hive mind?

Build a Sturdy Laptop Tray For Your Exercise Equipment

When exercise companies started designing exercise bikes with televisions built into them, they were certainly onto something. Mount your laptop on your exercise bike or elliptical machine with this rock-solid build.

We've already shared how to use PVC pipe to build a laptop holder for an elliptical machine, easy to build thanks to the ease with which you can saw and drill plastic pipe. If you're looking for a laptop stand with a studier feel to it, this metal version fits the bill.

Chris over at ManMade, a craft and DIY blog, wanted a solid laptop stand to attach to his recumbent bike. He stopped by the hardware store and grabbed some basic parts like angle iron and bolts, and with a little bit of DIY elbow grease in the shop—nothing more hardcore than drilling and using a dremel tool—he had a polished and sturdy laptop holder for his bike. It even has an area cut out of the support braces for peripherals and the power cord to be plugged in. Check it out in the video below:

If you have a treadmill and not a bike or elliptical, you'll definitely want to check out how to build a walking workstation. Have a hack that helps you spend more time exercising? Whether it involves DIY wizardry or just cleverness, let's hear about it in the comments.

Are you determined to stay with your weight loss program, but you need to travel a lot? You will be able to run indoors which is very safe rather you are at a gym or at home. It's not something that many people are taking lightly either because they are moving forward so well on a nice treadmill. If you're not a new comer to the treadmill arena, then you'll love the more advanced features found on this machine. To also further the challenge this treadmill has a full 15% incline for those that need a more professional workout.walking treadmillThis treadmill priced a little high than other brands has some additional features which support for the high price. When looking for a higher end 'commercial grade' treadmill for your home gym, consider a 'lighter' version of a commercial treadmill model or a home fitness equipment brand that is known for higher end machines. This allows for a larger user weight, and will come with a lifetime warranty against cracks or breakage. As more and more people developed the habit of doing regular exercise, the popularity of commercial treadmills has also increased.

This is my nose hair clippers blog

To began with we should take a peek at the purpose that your nose hair serves. That is correct it’s not only there to upsett us. The undesired hair is in fact essential in remaining in good health. It is there to separate out out the bad guys floating around including germs, things that trigger allergies along with viruses. Seeing as air makes its way into through the nostrils on the way to the lungs, the hairs act like small vacuum cleaners and even help to keep people free from infections. Devoid of nose hairs there would be nothing to keep the bad things out and you would most probably suffer from significant health issues after a while.

But what about the uncontrollable nose hair? I have personally seen people that look like they’ve got small afros exploding from each nostril. It is undoubtedly very distracting and makes it virtually impossible to carry on a face to face conversation with out becoming completely grossed out. Thus to be sure, there can be too much nostril hair. This is part of growing older for most guys. Experts feel that the extreme emergence is due to the hormonal changes while we grow older. You will find varying opinions however. Many suspect that it is genetic and others are even looking into the possibility of dietary causes.

Well make up your mind! 1st you tell us how important those nose hairs are and then you speak about tiny little nose afros. Which one it? The answer is both. You must cut them to keep them from poking out and as a consequence appearing unsightly but you do not want to go too far up the nostrils. The easiest way to accomplish this is with an electric nose hair groomer.

Nose hair grooming methods can safely and quickly eliminate the undesired hairs. It is certainly better than employing tweezers or scissors and without a doubt safer. It is simply the most effective way to keep the area groomed correctly.

When utilizing electric nose hair trimmers there are some simple tips you need to follow. One thing would be to not cut away too much hair. The strategy would be to just cleanup enough so that it’s not seen and thus unsightly. If the model you get has a safety guide, always use it. And you should definitely clean the clippers after you are finished.

For anyone who is presently utilizing tweezers and scissors, you have got to purchase a pair of nose hair groomers and give them a whirl. They are pretty cheap and make it a lot easier to maintain your personal cleanliness.

(You might not like this post.  It’s about noses, and the stuff that comes out of noses.  This is your fair warning.)

First of all — and I promise this is NOT the point of the post, but it still needs to be said — if one has a nose hair that sticks out more than just a little bit from the nostril, it NEEDS to be taken care of.  Pluck it, use a nose hair trimmer, ask a friend to help you with it, whatever.  Do something about it.  It’s creepy.

Thanks.  Now, on to the point(s) of the post.  KID nose stuff.

PART 1 – TOBY AND HIS NOSE

Helping a boy get into the habit of using tissues instead of fingers can be challenging.  After all, he’s a boy.  But we try…

The following takes place while driving to Club MMA last night.  It started when I observed The Tobe with a finger inserted into his nose.

Me: Buddy, if you need a tissue, you should tell me.

Tobe: It’s ok.  I’m just picking my nose.

Me: (grabbing a truck napkin to wipe his nose)

(5 min later)

Me: TOBE! Don’t wipe it on your shirt!

Tobe: But I always pick my nose. Sometimes I wipe it in my pocket. And sometimes I wipe it in the carpet, but then I cover it up with carpet so nobody can see it.**

Me: (Extended silence… totally unsure of how to comment on this…)

Me: Who taught you that?

Me: (Please oh please don’t say “YOU, ALRIGHT? I LEARNED IT FROM WATCHING YOU!” followed by a narrator’s voice-over of “Fathers who pick their nose have children who pick their nose…”)

Tobe: Well… Nobody did.

Me: (Relieved silence.)

**It should be noted that, at this moment, the pants he was wearing did not have pockets, nor could he reach any carpet. So, he must have assumed that picking his nose was a necessity, even though his normal “go to” places weren’t wiping options. Regretfully, I feel his pain.

PART 2 – AIMEE AND HER NOSE

Once I set Aimee in her bed at night, my official policy is to not pick her up again (unless absolutely necessary). I will, in an attempt to calm her down, kneel next to the crib and give her a hug. Sometimes this cuddle time is necessary for her.

Last night was one of those nights. I set her down, she cried and screamed for a couple minutes, I realized I needed to give her some help calming down, knelt down, draped my arms over the rail. She wrapped her arms around my neck, laid her head on my shoulder, and instantly fell asleep. Standing up. Laying on me.

I wondered how I’d escape this position. A minute later, as soon as I moved even a little bit, she calmly woke and stared at me. As has become bedtime custom, I kissed her on both cheeks and then on the nose.

I didn’t realize she had snotted all over herself.

It didn’t really even matter. I wiped myself off and told her I loved her.

Even covered in snot.

And I meant it.

This is my bright power led review

I've not used them personally, but generally the opinion around here is no. They always look real good on paper due to spectrums and what not, but they seem to usually fall short of HID in real life from what I've seen. That said I have seen a few ridiculously good grows around here using LED lighting so can't be all bad. So if for some reason though you can't handle a 400Watt HID do to heat or power, then I wouldn't hesitate to use LED just wouldn't be my preferred choice.

Not sure what to do with that huge wad of cash lying in your bedroom? You could always splurge it on this Ingo Maurer inspired LED table, and considering that it costs a good $23,175, it should do a fairly good job of reducing your pile of cash. The table sports a laminated safety glass on the top, not to mention 278 white LEDs which can emit light both ways. This LED table is powered by 48 volts DC, so you’ll need to keep it plugged in to stay juiced, and you’ll be able to use the external ballast for dimming. You have to admit, having dinner on a $23k LED table would certainly be an interesting experience, though you’d probably get bored of it real fast.
